Accommodation

A limited number of rooms is available at the Guest House of Warsaw Heavy Ion Laboratory (modest accomodation, no breakfast, about 1 minute walking distance from the venue). The cost of the room is 140 PLN per night and it can be booked through the organising committee (mail: strangeness2016@fuw.edu.pl). The Guest House accepts only cash in zlotys (no chance to pay with card or in Euro).

The hotel closest to the venue is "Ibis Warszawa Reduta" (walking time of about 15 minutes).

The Organizing Committee may cover the accommodation costs of a limited number of people. Please contact the Organizers if you intend to apply.

Currency

Official currency in Poland is zloty (zl or PLN). 1 Euro is worth approximately 4.5 PLN (mid-February 2016). Euro is not widely used in Poland. Credit/debit cards are usually accepted.

Getting to the venue

The building of the Faculty of Physics (address: Pasteura 5) can be easily reached from almost any point in Warsaw by public transport. One can use either:
- bus/tram stop "Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920" at the corner of Grojecka and Banacha streets;
- bus stop "Banacha" at the corner of Zwirki i Wigury and Banacha streets;
- bus/tram stop "Och-Teatr" on Grojecka street or
- tram/bus stop "Wawelska" on the corner of Grojecka and Wawelska streets (tram stops are marked on the map below).

Ticket costs 4.40 zloty per trip (not longer than 75 minutes, any number of changes between buses, trams, and underground -metro- is allowed). Details can be found out on the English-language page of Warsaw Public Transport Authority (ZTM).
